چکیده

We discuss in this paper various aspects of the off-critical O(n) model in two dimensions. We find the ground-state energy conjectured by Zamolodchikov for the unitary minimal models, and extend the result to some non-unitary minimal cases. We apply our results to the discussion of scaling functions for polymers on a cylinder. We show, using the underlying N =2 supersymmetry, that the scaling function for one non-contractible polymer loop around the cylinder is simply related to the solution of the Painleve III differential equation. We also find the ground-state energy for a single polymer on the cylinder. We check these results by numerically simulating the polymer system. We also analyze numerically the flow to the dense polymer phase. We find there surprising results, with a c eff function that is not monotonous and seems to have a roaming behavior, getting very close to the values 81/70 and 7/10 between its UV and IR values of 1.

Polymers and Percolation in Two Dimensions and Twisted N=2 Supersymmetry

We show how a large class of geometrical critical systems including dilute polymers, polymers at the theta point, percolation and to some extent brownian motion, are described by a twisted N=2 supersymmetric theory with k = 1 (it is broken in the dense polymer phase that is described simply by a η, ξ system). This allows us to give for the first time a consistent conformal field theory descript...

2 Generalized Coulomb Gas Expressions for the N = 2 Par - tition Functions

We introduce in this paper two dimensional lattice models whose continuum limit belongs to the N = 2 series. The first kind of model is integrable and obtained through a geometrical reformulation, generalizing results known in the k = 1 case, of the Γ k vertex models (based on the quantum algebra U q sl(2) and representation of spin j = k/2). We demonstrate in particular that at the N = 2 point...

Phase-ordering dynamics of the O(n) model: Exact predictions and numerical results.

We consider the pair correlation functions of both the order parameter field and its square for phase ordering in the O(n) model with nonconserved order parameter, in spatial dimension 2 ≤ d ≤ 3 and spin dimension 1 ≤ n ≤ d. We calculate, in the scaling limit, the exact short-distance singularities of these correlation functions and compare these predictions to numerical simulations. Our result...

7 N ov 2 00 5 Double scaling limit for matrix models with non analytic potentials

We prove the existence of the double scaling limit for unitary invariant ensembles of random matrices with non analytic potentials. The limiting reproducing kernel is expressed in terms of solutions of the Dirac system of differential equations with a potential defined by the Hastings-McLeod solution of the Painleve II equation. Our approach is based on the construction of the perturbation expa...
